Deadpool's origin story involves being a former Special Forces operative who undergoes an experimental treatment to cure his terminal cancer. The procedure gives him accelerated healing powers similar to those of Wolverine, but it also leaves him with severe physical scars and a mentally unstable personality. Despite his chaotic and violent tendencies, Deadpool is known for his unpredictable morality, sometimes doing the right thing in his own unconventional way.

The character has become immensely popular, not just in comics but also in other media, including video games and films. Ryan Reynolds famously brought Deadpool to life in the 2016 movie "Deadpool" and its sequel, which were both praised for staying true to the character's quirky and subversive nature.
