IMPORTANT PLEASE READ! This model has been updated for 2023!! There are significant improvements made, and I have elected to upload the X-wing as a new MOC on my rebrickable page, so that I can still have the original version here for anyone who wants to make changes to version 1, HOWEVER, I am making the instructions available here as well, as a free add-on for those of you who already purchased the initial design! just look for the PDF file labled "Instructions_xwingRed5_2023.pdf" The updated parts list is available here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-139628/2bricksofficial/t-65-starfighter-red-5-2023-edition/#details
I have also included the additional parts required to make this new version compatible with the single piece canopy, and that list is labeled "X-win 2023 cockpitExtraPieces.cvs" to which you will have to add part 6289537, or an X-wing canopy piece of your choosing.

Take flight with the legendary Incom T-65 X-wing Starfighter, designation Red 5!! Help Luke blow up the Death Star, fly to Dagobah or have Rey lead the resistance to Exegol. Whatever the scenario you can be assured you are getting a model that is built for play as much as display; with no weak areas anywhere in the design, the ship is highly swooshable, and has a smooth mechanism to open and close the S-Foils without the need for complicated geared mechanisms or rubber bands! The color scheme of this craft is also as accurate as possible to the shooting miniature used in the original Star Wars movie back in 1977, with accurate detailing, proportions and all the features you would expect.
Features include opening bottom cargo compartment, Opening cockpit and opening Astromech droid area, fully retractible and sturdy landing gear, and smoothly opening S-foils. The model also has a stand (included for free separately here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-59322/2bricksofficial/stand-for-2bricks-t-65-x-wing-starfighter-red-5/#details) which you can get to display your ship at a dramatic angle, while still being able to open and close the S-Foils!!
This model is designed to be the ultimate minifigure version of the ship, and I hope you enjoy building and playing with it as much as I enjoyed designing it!

The cockpit design called for in the instructions is very rare, having only appeared in 1 version of the X wing set in the past, and costing roughly $32 for a single piece. I have substituted it for the silver print version that is the same in every way but the color of the frame print, and costs half the amount. Feel free to switch this out if you have the sand blue version since its far more accurate to this ship (part ID: 21849pr0004)
