BLACKSMITH'S BREEZE by lux.bricks

(1730 pcs)

Welcome to "Blacksmith’s Breeze," a MOC that invites you to explore a medieval countryside setting. For this series, I tried to design a charming mill with an adjacent blacksmith's forge.

Mill:
By turning a crank, the wings of the mill can be set in motion. Using mechanical connections, this rotation is transferred underground to the forge, where it drives a large hammer. Additionally, the entire mill is mounted on a rotating base, allowing it to be positioned in different directions.

Forge:
The forge building is constructed from sturdy stone walls and features a wooden roof. Special attention was given to creating a realistic representation of the roof structure. To provide easy access to the interior of the forge, the roof can be removed, and the front of the building can be modularly taken off.

Minifigures:
"Blacksmith’s Breeze" illustrates a medieval mill and forge where a small group of villagers goes about their tasks. The elder man operates the forge and mill, while a woman tends to the garden and manages the tasks of the day. A mischievous young boy is often seen causing trouble with his clever antics, accompanied by a loyal pig that follows him everywhere. Additionally, a knight from the Lion Knights is present to oversee the collection of swords for the kingdom.

Designer´s Thoughts:
I decided to design a medieval MOC for this series because the Middle Ages simply fascinate me. It's important to me that my MOCs are detailed and appropriately scaled to fit with existing castles and other structures. For this reason, I chose to make the forge a single-story building. MOCs thrive on play features, so I included an automated smithing hammer. Additionally, I strive to ensure that the interiors of the buildings are easily accessible, which is why the roof and front of the forge can be modularly removed.
