The Colonial Goods Store & Old Bakery is part of the Dutch Quarter series, showcasing two distinct buildings with unique features.
Building A showcases a typical Dutch stepped gable design, highlighting the architectural style of the dutch golden age. The year 1692 is prominently displayed on the façade.
- Level 1: The ground floor houses a colonial goods store, reminiscent of 19th-century shops. Above the entrance, the name H. Claasen is displayed, suggesting a traditional merchant's establishment. The store offers a variety of colonial goods, such as coffee, tea, cocoa, spices, rum, and tobacco.
- Level 2: Above the store is a cozy apartment inhabited by an adventurer or explorer. This level is classically furnished, featuring a bathroom with a bathtub and an open kitchen. The apartment contains various artifacts, including minerals, an Oriental dagger, a magic lamp, and fossils. A spiral staircase connects this level to the third floor.
- Level 3: The attic is comfortably decorated, featuring a bed and a telescope. A table with red wine and snacks adds to the inviting atmosphere.
Building B features a Dutch Baroque façade, adorned with decorative elements.
- Level 1: The ground floor serves as an old bakery, with a front room dedicated to selling baked goods and a back room containing the baking area and oven.
- Level 2: This level includes a cozy living room and kitchen, designed for comfort.
- Level 3: The top floor consists of a bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, exuding an imperial flair.
