H-44 Prototype Battleship

After so many years, I've finally made a better building instructions PDF file for my 2017 LEGO H-44 Prototype Battleship MOC. A frightening project to say for the least, read more about it below.



The H class was a series of battleship designs planned for Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine in the late 1930s and early 1940s under Plan Z. The initial design, H-39, called for six enlarged Bismarck-class battleships armed with 40.6 cm (16 in) guns and diesel propulsion. Successive iterations, H-41 through H-44, proposed larger main guns, culminating in 50.8 cm (20 in) guns for H-44. The ships ranged from 277.8 m (911 ft 5 in) for H-39 to 345 m (1,131 ft 11 in) for H-44, with most designs aiming for speeds exceeding 30 knots (56 km/h).

However, due to the outbreak of World War II in September 1939, none of the ships were completed. Only the first two H-39 ships were laid down, and work on them was halted by November 1941. Contracts for the other four H-39 ships were canceled before construction began, and subsequent designs never progressed beyond the planning stages.
