This is my Ultimate Playset AAT model!! The menacing hover-tank has been recolored to reflect its appearance in the Clone Wars Animated series, and boasts a sturdy construction and a detailed interior with room to fit a crew of 3 battle droids! The tank "hovers" off the ground thanks to 4 clear 1x2 bricks on the underside and the top turret swivels 360 degrees (without tipping the tank over due to it's nice, low center of gravity). The main and side canons can be angled up or down to aim at ships or ground troops, and the opening back door allows your troops to enter or exit the tank "in universe" while easy to remove sections of the design give you as a human easy access to the interior. Other highly accurate details include the top hatch opening by splitting down the middle, the various pipes, hand holds and other greeblies faithfully recreated, and the smooth front curve that still has a representation for the torpedo launchers, thanks to a novel technique involving lego technic pins with ball joints! Instruction Note: Steps 247 and 248, due to an unavoidable glitch in the part recoloring process, have a floating element that can't be attached until step 249, so just be aware of that. The final build is unaffected.
Parts notes: The part "Tool Screwdriver with Wide Head [3-Rib Handle] Part 604550 can be very expensive, so consider replacing it with either a Black Bar 2L with Stop Ring Part 78258 or a Black Minifigure Utensil Wand Part 36752a. Neither will look quite as good, and the wand has limited clutch power in this configuration, but it could lower your total cost by around $10 USD potentially.
