Description
MOC-190816-1
The UT-60D U-wing was a transport/gunship used by the Rebel Alliance, notably during the Battle of Scarif, as depicted in Rogue One: a Star Wars Story. This MOC is my interpretation of the ship, a heavily modified version of set 75155.
Changes were made to the whole inner structure of the original model, with the underside being almost entirely redesigned. It now features sliding doors more similar to the source material, and also better proportions, with a shorter underside (now in light bluish gray) and longer wings and engines. A section of the top can be easily removed to give better access to the interior, which can fit a pilot and at least 3 passengers. The model also features retractable landing gear.
Most U-Wing MOCs go for a larger "UCS-like" scale to be properly scaled to minifigs. This model is smaller than that, being not that much longer than the original set at 18.5 inches (47 cm). With 690 parts, it's easy to display on a shelf or to play with.
PLEASE NOTE THIS CANNOT BE BUILT WITH ONLY THE PARTS FROM SET 75155. It uses many parts from the set, but requires some extra ones. If you own the set and want to build this MOC, you can find out what extra parts you'll need by using the COMPARE MOC feature on Rebrickable, and comparing the MOC to the original set. If you don't own the original set, the only challenging parts to acquire will be the sticker sheet and the large windscreen on the underside (part 13252).
If you choose to acquire these instructions, I hope you enjoy this build and highly appreciate your support!
