"Panelák" Apartment Building

This MOC isn't necessarily related to Bratislava, but Bratislava is full of residential apartment buildings from the Soviet-era. Dubbed as a Panel building or "Panelák", this type of building was one of the fastest and most efficient ways to build apartment buildings during the Cold War. Parts were prefabricated in factories and assembled on the constructions site just like, well... LEGO bricks.
They were notoriously cheap and fast to construct which is why you'll find lots of them in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and all the way to depths of Russia.

Some countries like France or Germany have also adopted the panel building approach back them so it isn't necessarily a soviet type of building.

In Bratislava, you'll find them mainly in the Petrzalka, Karlova Ves, Dubravka and Ruzinov boroughs. Luckily, they have been repairing them in the past few years and from the dull scary colors, they have become brighter and sometimes better to look at.
