⬛⬜⬛⬜ THE MOC ⬜⬛⬜⬛

Did you know that the French were the first to actually build a mechanized submarine in the 19th century? This is a 1:500 approximate recreation of the unusual Plongeur submarine which, although did work as intended, never got to be deployed en masse in the French Navy.

⬛⬜⬛⬜ HISTORY ⬜⬛⬜⬛

Plongeur (French for "Diver") was a French submarine launched on 16 April 1863, notable for being the world's first submarine propelled by mechanized power rather than human effort. The design was developed by Captain Siméon Bourgeois and naval constructor Charles Brun, who began their work in 1859 at Rochefort.
