USS Arizona Battleship

Out from the 2017 collection comes out this fairly simple but detailed LEGO USS Arizona Battleship MOC.



USS Arizona, a battleship commissioned in 1916, served primarily with the Pacific Fleet throughout her career. Following her commissioning, she represented the United States at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 and later during the Greco-Turkish War. In the interwar years, Arizona underwent periodic training exercises and a comprehensive modernization in 1929-1931. Notably, she supported relief efforts after the 1933 Long Beach earthquake and appeared in the film "Here Comes the Navy" in 1934.

With the Pacific Fleet's relocation to Pearl Harbor in 1940, Arizona was present during the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941. Sustaining heavy damage, she was sunk by air-dropped bombs, resulting in the loss of 1,177 lives. Unlike other vessels attacked, Arizona was deemed irreparable and remains submerged beneath the USS Arizona Memorial, dedicated to the memory of those lost in the attack.
