For every message about my Enterprise D, I got another request for the Enterprise E! I've made a couple Enterprise E's before, a small model and a teeny tiny model in the Advent Calendar. This time I wanted to bring all the features you loved about my other midi models including the bridge playset, the detachable saucer section and a tonne of cool SNOT techniques to make this a super fun build. I give you my USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E in MIDI scale!

The Enterprise E, just like the Enterprise D is one of the most iconic starships in Trek lore. Taking on the Borg in First Contact, the Ba'ku, and Picard's clone in Nemesis. And we all know Worf had nothing to do with it's destruction...

John Eaves' design philosophy for the Sovereign-class Enterprise-E aimed to give the ship a sleeker, more aggressive appearance compared to the Galaxy-class Enterprise-D, reflecting the narrative shift to a more action-oriented and defense-capable starship. The ship’s elongated shape, reduced saucer section, and streamlined nacelles were intentional design choices to contrast with the bulkier, more luxurious Enterprise-D. I gave myself a cap of £100 for this model to keep it accessible and I've held nothing back in terms of features.

This new design captures the aggression of the Sovereign-class while packing in all the details and features fans expect:
  • Detachable saucer section, whilst not seen on screen, Eaves had intended this functionality. Now you get to enjoy this feature.
  • Secondary hull, tackle the toughest enemies with a split attack.
  • Fully accessible bridge playset, complete with viewscreen, controls, and with the entire crew on board: Jean-Luc Picard, William Riker, Data, Deanna Troi, Geordi LaForge, Dr. Beverly Crusher, and Lt. Worf.
  • Reinforced structure, designed to be strong enough for display and play.

Beyond that, I’ve worked hard to include all the classic features of the Enterprise E that fans know and love:

  • Main deflector array
  • Impulse engines on both the secondary and hulls
  • Phaser arrays
  • Shuttlebay observation/control room
  • Main shuttlebay
  • Aft shuttlebay
  • Bussard ramscoops
  • Warp engine field grille
  • Magnetic field sensor arrays
  • RCS Thrusters
  • Forward transporter emitter pad
  • Phaser strips
  • Subspace boundary manipulators
  • Subspace field propulsive vector arrays
  • Main bridge
  • Captains yacht
  • Ejectable warp core

This model measures approximately:
42cm (l) x 16cm (w) x 7cm (h) off stand
42cm (l) x 16cm (w)
 x 21cm (h) on stand

These models continue to represent everything I’ve learned about building in LEGO. It’s not just a display piece—it’s designed to be fun to build and even more fun to interact with.

As always, I hope you’ll enjoy building it as much as I enjoyed creating it. Whether you’re a die-hard TNG fan or just love great starship designs, this model is for you.

MAKE IT SO.
