⬛⬜⬛⬜ THE MOC ⬜⬛⬜⬛
Not as big as my USS Nimitz-Class Aircraft Carrier MOC but it's still quite a big ship compared to the other ones in my collection. What do you think of this one?
⬛⬜⬛⬜ HISTORY ⬜⬛⬜⬛
USS Midway (CV-41) was an aircraft carrier of the United States Navy and the lead ship of her class. Commissioned in 1945, just after the end of World War II, she was the first U.S. carrier too large to transit the Panama Canal. Midway served for 47 years, the longest of any aircraft carrier, and was a key participant in the Cold War, the Vietnam War, and Operation Desert Storm. Extensively modernized in the 1950s and 1960s, she was the first carrier to receive an angled flight deck and steam catapults, significantly enhancing her aircraft operations. Decommissioned in 1992, USS Midway is now a museum ship in San Diego, California.
