⬛⬜⬛⬜ THE MOC ⬜⬛⬜⬛
The third sister of the Iowa-class fast battleships: USS New Jersey (BB-62)!
USS New Jersey (BB-62), known as "Big J," was the second Iowa-class battleship to bear the name of the state of New Jersey. Commissioned in 1943, she played a pivotal role in World War II, shelling Guam and Okinawa, and later engaging in the Korean War. Following a brief deactivation, she was reactivated in the 1980s with missile capabilities. After her last decommissioning in 1991, she earned numerous accolades, including a Navy Unit Commendation for her service in Vietnam and 19 battle and campaign stars. In 2001, she found a new purpose as a museum ship in Camden, New Jersey, preserving her rich history for future generations.
