USS Nicholas Destroyer

This one's been on the shelves for too long. This is another unscaled ship from my collection featuring the USS Nicholas, a Fletcher-Class destroyer from WW2.



USS Nicholas (DD/DDE-449), a Fletcher-class destroyer, served the United States Navy for 27 years, spanning World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. She was named after Major Samuel Nicholas and was laid down on March 3, 1941, at Bath Iron Works Corp., Bath, Maine. Launched on February 19, 1942, she was sponsored by Mrs. Edward B. Tryon, a descendant of Major Nicholas, and commissioned on June 4, 1942.
