This Y-Wing was designed to better showcase the ships' angled cockpit and large engines with new techniques and pieces. The cockpit now opens from the side, like we see in the movies. It has a bombing feature with hidden stud shooters inside the body of the ship. The overall detail, greebling, and proportions are very accurate for the size.

Here is a short video showcasing the features of the ship. A longer video will be released to discuss more in-depth details.

The building process is meant for older, advanced LEGO builders due to the techniques used which can seem unstable and tedious when building but eventually the whole ship will strengthen throughout the build. The structure of the engines can be compromised if gripped hard or played with too heavily so this set is not the most playable for children. But the center of mass, the neck of the ship, is very stable and allows for swooshability.

All
LIME PIECES can be substituted for any color.

Dimensions:
13.75" Long
7.75" Wide
2.3" Tall

This ship is 1/46 scale

The ship stands 8" tall when displayed on my custom display stand which can be found here

If you want to better understand the scale I use for my ships check out this video

In order to properly fit a minifigure into the cockpit you must position the minifigure at a slight seated angle and put the arms up slightly as depicted below. When placing the minifigure into the seat you must do so at an angle and rotate them into position as depicted below:

There may be a slightly illegal technique used in this build. The bars that hold the engine tail sections (part 42445) sometimes indicate a collision in Studio. Even if this is a true collision of the pieces it is ever so slight and the long bar pieces should see minuscule stress, if any at all.
